Travel for me is an opportunity to escape. It is an opportunity to step away from everyday life and experience something new or different. Whether it is a day trip, weekend trip or weeklong trip, travel provides the opportunity to get away. Sometimes I get away on an adventure to an exciting new destination to experience different cultures and try new foods or I get away to a familiar place I have been many times before and never get tired of. Travel can be whatever you want it to be, a relaxing cruise in the Caribbean, a ride on a thrilling roller coaster, a trip to a local park, or an educational journey to a historic place. When I travel, I become my travel self. I am open to new ideas and experiences and leave my work and home self behind. I become freer and less stressed. I can unplug. When I return home from traveling, I have recharged with new experiences and new memories that will last a lifetime and inspire my next getaway.
