About
Travel planning is in my blood. I began working in my parents' travel agency, European Travel Int'l, on a regular basis in 1978 as a freshman in high school. I attended a vocational course and through that class, learned nearly every facet of the travel business, from reading airline tariff guides, to handwriting airline tickets, to negotiating the agent/client relationship.
While my mother handled travel accounts, administration and bookkeeping, and my father hosted tour groups to South America and South Africa, I worked in the office part-time and hand-delivered airline tickets to university accounts while working on my degree. After graduation I joined my parents in the office, and although I tried to move and work elsewhere at some point, I was drawn to this business and made Travel and Tourism my career, in the family agency.
After 39 years of operating a storefront office, my mother decided to retire in March, 2017. We closed the office but I continue to run European Travel from my Home Office and remain a full-service travel agency.
I inherited wanderlust from my father and he and I traveled together a lot while I was growing up. Raising my sons while working full-time put my travel dreams on hold for a while but with my sons now grown up and serving in the Air Force, my husband and I travel as much as we can. I like to think that my love of travel is contagious to my clients!
