Utah Issues Bulletin Reminding agents to Obtain License to Offer Travel Insurance

April 16, 2010

On April 7, 2010, the Acting Commissioner of Insurance for the State of Utah issued a bulletin providing guidance on Utah Code requiring all agencies and agents that are “involved in the sale and/or solicitation of travel insurance” be licensed. Any travel seller or agency not registered should complete an application and pay the applicable licensing fee. Affected agents needing additional guidance are encouraged to contact the Utah Insurance Department.

We encourage you to share your thoughts, observations and/or concerns with us about these issues at pr@asta.org.
