Members' Guide to American Airlines’ 2014 Addendum to Agency Agreements — June 11, 2014
ASTA has completed its review of the recently issued American Airlines (AA) Addendum to the ARC Agent Reporting Agreement and IATA Passenger Sales Agency Agreement. To complete this review, ASTA reached out to American Airlines with a list of questions after the new Addendum was released to clarify some issues so we may avoid conflict in the future.

ARC Bonds & Letters of Credit — June 29, 2011
ARC requires all ARC-listed travel agents to maintain a bond or irrevocable letter of credit (LOC) in favor of ARC. The ARC bond is a performance or financial guaranty type of bond. The LOC is a guarantee of payment issued by a federally insured lending institution. A bond or LOC serves as a financial screen, assuring ARC carriers of the financial credit worthiness of travel agents. ARC's bond/LOC requirement also protects ARC carriers from financial loss if a travel agency defaults.

Ticket Security Rules — February 6, 2009
The Airlines Reporting Corporation's (ARC) recommended security practices for agencies approved prior to March 31, 1996, with one exception, are now mandatory for all agents. These revised rules include acceptable ticket printer locations, printer locking requirements and safe requirements.

Credit Card Acceptance Procedures — February 6, 2009

IATAN Financial and Personnel Standards — February 6, 2009
ARC-appointed agencies can satisfy IATAN's financial requirements simply by submitting a copy of their ARC bond or letter of credit. If you are not appointed by ARC, you must give IATAN a financial statement demonstrating required amounts of net worth and working capital.
