In 2016 the Board of Directors voted to move from Chapter Elections to an application and appointment process for Chapter Presidents. Candidates should self-nominate by submitting an application to firstname.lastname@example.org. All applications will be reviewed by a committee. Should a member want to start a new chapter, applications are accepted throughout the year.
ASTA US Chapters are made up of our US Travel agent Members that work collectively to create an inclusive and supportive networking environment and are your connection to ASTA Headquarters. Our chapter network drives our grassroots advocacy efforts and is led and supported by volunteer agency and agent leaders as well as supplier members in your area. To be eligible to serve as a US Chapter President, one must be the Official Representative of a US Travel Agency Member Company or Premium Travel Agency Member Company.
US Chapter Presidents also serve on the Chapter Presidents Council (CPC).

US Chapter President Candidates must not be an employee of a supplier and must commit to a two year minimum length of service.
Additionally, new ASTA chapters are encouraged to form in areas where there is a travel agent audience. To be eligible for creation of a new chapter, a minimum of seven (7) prospective members, at least two (2) of whom are willing to serve as chapter officers, must be present. The prospective officers must also commit to hold at least four (4) meetings per year.
Chapter presidents also serve on the Chapter Presidents’ Council which meets 3-4 times per year.

International Chapters are made up of our International Travel Supplier Members that want to work collectively to promote their destination, products and services to the US Travel Agency community. To be eligible to serve as an International Chapter President, one must be the Official Representative of an International Travel Supplier Member company.
International Chapter Presidents also serve on the International Chapter Presidents Council (ICPC).
