At its August 23 meeting during the ASTA Global Convention in Washington, DC, ASTA's Corporate Advisor Council (CAC) set its Executive Committee leadership for 2018-2019. Of note, Kathy Bedell, Senior Vice President, Americas & Affiliate Program at BCD Travel, was elected by her peers to a two-year term as Secretary, joining Denise Jackson (Chair) of Balboa Travel, Inc. and Michael Dixon (Vice Chair) of Travelink/American Express on the CAC Executive Committee. Jackson and Dixon moved up the ladder with the departure of Jennifer Wilson-Buttigieg of Valerie Wilson Travel, Inc. after more than five years of service.
The CAC - made up of the heads of ASTA's largest travel agency/TMC, consortia, franchise, host agency and allied supplier members - focuses on issues of common interest to the travel advisor community, formulating a strategy to speak with one voice before federal regulators, Members of Congress, state legislators as well as other travel industry groups.
