  • SBA issues new guidelines for PPP forgiveness, Congress eye changes

    On Friday, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) issued guidelines to help Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) borrowers apply for "forgiveness" for some or all of their loans. The new "interim final rule" also provides guidance to PPP lenders who will be making loan forgiveness decisions and informs borrowers and lenders of SBA's process for reviewing PPP loan applications and loan forgiveness applications.     At the same time, the House of Representatives will be voting this week on the Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act (PPPFA), legislation to retroactively change PPP loan terms in a number of ways ASTA has been advocating for.
