ASTA Welcomes Mark Meader as VP of Industry Affairs

Alexandria, VA, April 23, 2015 – The American Society of Travel agents (ASTA) is pleased to announce that Mark Meader will be joining the association on Monday April 27 as Vice President of Industry Affairs.

Meader is a travel industry veteran with global experience in the agency, GDS, airline and industry organization communities. He served most recently as Vice President, Business Development at the Airlines Reporting Corporation where he led initiatives on everything from product marketing and new business development and sales to public relations. He has firsthand knowledge of the travel industry from his time with Sabre Holdings where he was a senior executive in both Europe and Asia-Pacific. At United Airlines, Mark worked on various aspects of the merger with Continental Airlines.

“Not too many people in our industry can fill this specialized Industry Affairs position, but we know Mark is the right candidate, and the right fit for our organization,” said President and CEO Zane Kerby. “He knows well our members and their issues thanks to his past work with long-time ASTA Premium Member Colpitts World Travel where Mark was not only a travel agent, but also responsible for finding solutions to automate the agency,” said Kerby.
