Alexandria, VA, September 15, 2016 – Today, Nexion becomes the first host agency to implement a direct enroll program for their network – allowing their agency members to make simple monthly payments of $17 for ASTA membership.
In an effort to better serve the growing independent agent community, ASTA recently added a $199 Independent Contractor membership rate to help ICs receive the valuable benefits of ASTA membership. This IC rate is valid for all agents affiliated with a Premium Member agency or who are active members of the National Association of Career Travel agents (NACTA). Nexion will continue to roll this program out by putting ASTA front and center for all agents joining the Nexion network.
“We applaud Nexion for supercharging our IC membership program by allowing their ICs to directly enroll in ASTA membership through simple monthly payments,” said Zane Kerby, President & CEO of ASTA. “We’re always willing to customize a membership program that works for host agencies to make sure that all agents, and ICs, can have access to ASTA’s network of resources and benefits and we thank Nexion for making it that much easier for ICs to invest in their national trade association.”
Jackie Friedman, Nexion President and a long-time ASTA supporter, noted that one of the reasons she is promoting ASTA membership is because “ASTA relies on membership to fund the important advocacy work they do at the federal and state level. They can’t do it without the fees generated through membership growth. A couple of years ago, many of the consortiums boosted membership by mandating or subsidizing membership. That was a huge first step. Now we have the opportunity to pioneer a program that works in the host agency model with our agency members. This complements their Nexion affiliation and professionalizes our network, giving access to critical industry and government affairs updates.”
This two-year agreement creates an easy pathway for Nexion agents to receive the advocacy benefits of ASTA membership through their host agency.
