As you know, one of our top legislative priorities this year is the Travel agent Retail Fairness Act (H.R. 2515), which would remove travel agencies from an arbitrary regulatory "blacklist" that blocks them from using an exemption designed to help retail businesses comply with federal overtime rules.
We met recently with the staff of bill sponsor Rep. Francis Rooney of Florida, who urged us to do everything we can to get key Democratic Members of Congress to "cosponsor" the bill. If you're receiving this message, you are a constituent of one of these key members and we need your help!
Please take two minutes out of your schedule today to make a phone call in support of H.R. 2515! We have a set of quick and easy talking points and can pair you with the correct contacts through our grassroots portal:
This narrowly-targeted bill is a matter of basic fairness – H.R. 2515 will treat travel agents like any other retail business. It is also bipartisan, a rare thing in Washington these days, with 7 Republicans and 3 Democrats currently cosponsoring. Simply put, there is no reason for your Member of Congress not to support this bill. Please take action today!
