ASTA Agency ProfileThe ASTA Agency Profile includes demographics on ASTA's member agencies. It is a snapshot of what our members look like as of January 2009. The Profile shows how the industry has shifted with the increase in the percentage of both larger firms and smaller firms as well as the shift in location from "main street" and "strip malls" to home-based and high rises. Another shift has been the declining share of sales from airline bookings while the share of sales for tours, cruises and hotels has increased. Survey data was collected through the 2009 ASTA Research Family. The ASTA Research Family is comprised of a representative sample of ASTA member travel agency owners and managers. The reply level for this survey indicates an error rate +/- 3.8% representing the total ASTA agency membership.
