Nasif Kayed

General Manager
Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU)

Nasif is a semi retired business man, who in the early eighties travelled to the US and made it his home. There he established himself as a business entrepreneur and by 2007 had ventures in the US and Canada. Having established more than 40 companies in that time, he continued to play an active role in coaching others in similar business situations and advising business associates on how to relate in a multicultural environment.

After 9/11 Nasif took a more directed approach to bridging the cultural gap by inviting community leaders, schools and universities, religious institutions and law enforcement to the Islamic Association of Raleigh, in North Carolina, where he chaired the Outreach Committee. The purpose was to clarify misconceptions about Muslims living in the community and to promote cultural understanding amongst the many nationalities living in Raleigh. He was a member of the Executive Committee, and School Board for the Islamic Centre, and used his business know how to coordinate the Mosque expansion and school building project.

Nasif has made it his life’s mission to act as a bridge between people of all cultures and faiths, spearheading the activities at the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding for over four years. Personally leading tours and cultural exchanges for visitors and institutions in Dubai, Nasif has given presentations to all levels of employees at schools & universities, and at internationally and locally renowned companies. A charismatic speaker, Kayed embodies the “Open Doors Open Minds” philosophy of the SMCCU, encouraging open cultural exchanges under their “Freedom to Ask” policy, conducting seminars which are as entertaining as they are enlightening.
